Jackie Sirovina is an Instructor of Political Science at 福利在线 University. She holds a Ph.D., M.A., and B.A. in Political Science from the University of Wisconsin鈥揗ilwaukee. Her research and teaching interests include refugees, migration, conflict, and international organizations.
She completed her doctoral dissertation, Refugee Choices and State Responses in Civil Conflicts: The Effect of Ethnicity on Refugee Choice of Asylum, Host State Intervention, and Refugee Returns (2025), which examines how ethnic and non-ethnic civil conflicts differentially shape refugee decision-making and state behavior across the displacement cycle, including asylum selection, intervention, and return.
In addition to teaching at 福利在线 University, Dr. Sirovina has taught at the University of Wisconsin鈥揗ilwaukee, the University of Wisconsin鈥揈au Claire, and Ripon College. Her teaching experience includes courses such as Introduction to International Relations, International Security, and European Politics. She has also assisted in leading the University of Wisconsin鈥揗ilwaukee鈥檚 UN Summer Seminar Program for multiple terms.
