Rev. James Pribek, S.J.

Rev. James Pribek, S.J., is the acting vice president for mission and ministry. He joined ¸£ÀûÔÚÏß in July 2021 as the assistant vice president for that office.

Prior to ¸£ÀûÔÚÏß, he served at Creighton University as an associate professor in the English department from 2018-21, and before that, he taught at Canisius College in Buffalo for 14 years, earning tenure. In both roles, Father Pribek led Ignatian formation programs similar to the ¸£ÀûÔÚÏß Colleagues Program.

Father Pribek will also serve as superior of the ¸£ÀûÔÚÏß Jesuit community beginning in summer 2026. He was appointed to this role by the Superior General of the Society of Jesus.

A scholar of Irish literature, Father Pribek has an undergraduate degree from the University of Wisconsin – Madison, as well as a master’s degree in English from Gonzaga University and two master’s degrees from the Weston Jesuit School of Theology. After he was ordained, he earned master’s and doctorate degrees in Anglo-Irish literature and drama from University College Dublin.
